Leadership with a Jewish twist

Yesod is the Hebrew word for “foundation.”

Yesod is a sephirah or node in the Tree of Life in Kabbalah.  Some say it is the foundation upon which God built the world.

Yesod in Savannah is that name of the “leadership program with a Jewish twist.”

Yesod aptly describes this vital initiative for the Savannah Jewish community. The goal of the Yesod Community Leadership Development Program is to support our community by aiding the development of excellent volunteer leadership.

Developing potential leaders is the most important factor in ensuring the long-term success of our community. Graduates of the YESOD Community Leadership Development Program will help shape the future of the Savannah Jewish Community.  Over 75% of Cohort I & II participants have gone on to Board leadership throughout our community; a testament to the quality of the participants and presentations!

The Yesod curriculum offers insights into personal and organizational leadership through a Jewish perspective. Course content will merge Judaic text study, business skills, leadership theory and experiential application.

Yesod is open to anyone in the Savannah Jewish community, young or old, new or seasoned, involved or not yet, involved, that wants to gain leadership skills through a Jewish lens.

Put on your thinking caps, consider those you know in the community.  This can be transformative for the individual and the community.  You can nominate someone from the community or nominate yourself.

No one single initiative of the Federation has yielded such a result in our community.
